Refinishable
Solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished multiple times over its lifetime, making it one of the most durable and long-lasting flooring choices available. A well-maintained solid floor can last 100+ years.
Nail-Down Installation
Solid hardwood is installed using a traditional nail-down method over wood subfloors. Not suitable for concrete or below-grade installations — for those applications, see our engineered hardwood options.
Solid hardwood flooring is milled from a single piece of wood throughout its entire thickness. Unlike engineered hardwood, solid wood expands and contracts more noticeably with changes in humidity — but it also rewards careful maintenance with a floor that genuinely improves with age, developing a rich patina over decades of use.
BHW Floors sources from FSC-certified forests and finishes with natural oils that penetrate and nourish the wood rather than coating it with plastic. The result is a floor that looks better the more it is walked on.
